TRIO - Student Support Services
Student Support Services (TRIO) is designed to assist students reach their academic goals of graduating from JCC with a two-year degree and transferring to a four-year college or university. TRIO serves to motivate and help students accomplish academic and personal success by offering comprehensive individual support.
Services provided by the program include:
- Leadership opportunities
- Tutoring from Nationally Certified Tutors
- Transfer coaching
- Transfer Academy
- College visits and tours
- Seminars
- Scholarship resources
- Financial literacy
- Success Coaching - Personal & Academic
- Referrals to campus & community resources
- TSC (TRIO Service Committee)
- PALS (Peer, Assistance, Leadership & Support) peer mentoring program
Program objectives include:

67% of all participants served by the SSS Project will persist from one academic year to the beginning of the next academic year or graduate and/or transfer from a two-year to a four-year institution during the academic year

67% of all enrolled participants served by the SSS project will meet the performance level required to stay in good academic standing

25% of new participants served each year will graduate with an Associate Degree or Certificate within four years

21% of new participants served each year will transfer with an Associate Degree or Certificate within four years
- 67% of all students in TRIO must be first generation and low-income
