The following provides prospective students, current students and community members with information about Johnston Community College. This information is provided in compliance with the Higher Education Act of 1965 as amended, the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act, the Student Right to Know Act, the Jeanne Cleary Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act, and the Equity in Athletics Disclosure Act. JCC follows the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) to protect your education records and personal info.

FERPA gives you the right to:

Request corrections

Control who sees your info

File a complaint if your rights are violated

We won’t share your personal information without your written consent—unless the law allows it. These rules are explained in the College Catalog and Student Handbook.

Directory Information like your name, major, and honors may be shared unless you opt out each year by contacting the Registrar’s Office.

Even with a FERPA hold, certain JCC staff may access your info if needed for college-related work.
