Don’t let the cost of college get in the way of your goals. We’re here to help you figure out how to make college more affordable. Our Financial Aid experts can help you find different ways to get money for school – some of which you don’t have to pay back! They’ll also help you apply for financial aid as you work toward your degree, diploma, or certificate.
The first step in applying for financial aid at Johnston Community College (JCC) is to complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). Federal and State Aid are available to eligible students.
There are three ways to complete your FAFSA:
Apply online to speed up processing and access important financial aid tools. Be sure to choose the FAFSA for the correct academic year.
To file online, both students and parents need an FSA ID to sign the application. Keep your FSA ID safe—you’ll need it for updates or future aid.
Need help? Visit the Student Success Center—no appointment needed. Allow at least 45 minutes to complete your FAFSA.
Apply by the priority deadline to avoid delays. If you apply late, you may need to pay up front or set up a payment plan in Self Service. If you're later awarded aid, you’ll be reimbursed during the semester. If not, you’re responsible for all charges.
