Basic Law Enforcement Training

Our Basic Law Enforcement Training (BLET) program is designed to equip you with the essential skills and knowledge required for entry-level positions in law enforcement. This hands-on, high-impact training prepares you to serve and protect your community with confidence.

Requirements

  • U.S. Citizen
  • Advanced English and Reading Skills
  • 20 years of age by class start and exam. 19 with waiver
  • Criminal Background Check
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • North Carolina Issued Drivers License
  • Secure Sponsorship from a Law Enforcement Agency.

This state-approved program meets all the requirements set by the North Carolina Criminal Justice Education and Training Standards Commission and the North Carolina Sheriffs’ Education and Training Standards Commission.

Information Sessions

Prospective students are encouraged to attend an informational session to learn more about the program and begin the application process. These sessions are held regularly at the Public Safety Building on campus.
