Johnston Community College’s Real Estate Pre-Licensing program prepares you with the skills needed to pass the state licensing exam and begin working in the real estate industry.
Credential Offered: Certificate of Completion (Pre-Licensing Education)
This course provides a strong introduction to real estate principles, laws, and professional practices. You’ll learn how real estate transactions work, how to represent clients ethically, and how to comply with state regulations.

Completing the Real Estate Pre-Licensing course is the first step toward a variety of real estate careers, including:
Real Estate Broker or Salesperson – Assist clients with buying, selling, and leasing property.
Property Manager – Oversee residential or commercial properties on behalf of owners.
Real Estate Assistant – Support licensed brokers with transactions, marketing, and client services.
Leasing Agent – Work with tenants and property owners in rental markets.
This course meets North Carolina Real Estate Commission (NCREC) education requirements for pre-licensing. Employment requires passing the North Carolina Real Estate Licensing Exam and meeting all state licensing requirements.
Your course fee includes the "Principles of Real Estate Practice in North Carolina, 3rd Edition" e-book, seamlessly integrated into our course software. While a physical copy of the textbook is optional, many students find it beneficial for offline study.

The Real Estate Pre-Licensing course is offered as a self-supporting course. Self-supporting courses are not eligible for a refund as these programs are funded by registration fees collected. Students are eligible for a 100-percent refund if the classes are cancelled by the College.
