What You'll Learn

The Biotechnology program provides hands-on, industry-aligned training and partnerships with employers such as Grifols and Novo Nordisk to prepare you for immediate employment or further study in biomanufacturing, pharmaceuticals, and biotech—teaching you to operate equipment, monitor production, and ensure quality in products like medicines and biofuels.

You’ll learn:

  • Apply fundamental biological and chemical science principles
  • Operate and monitor bioprocessing equipment
  • Perform upstream and downstream processing techniques
  • Collect, analyze, and document process measurements
  • Follow quality control procedures and current Good Manufacturing Practice (cGMP) regulations
  • Support safe, efficient, and compliant production environments

Career Opportunities

Once you have graduated you’ll be prepared for entry-level and advanced roles in biotechnology, pharmaceutical manufacturing, and industrial bioprocessing. 

  • Bioprocess Technician – Operates and monitors equipment used to produce biologics, pharmaceuticals, and biotech products.
  • Quality Control Technician – Tests materials and products to ensure they meet quality, safety, and regulatory standards.
  • Pharmaceutical Manufacturing Associate – Supports the production, packaging, and documentation of pharmaceutical products in regulated facilities.
  • Chemical Manufacturing Technician – Assists with chemical processing operations, equipment monitoring, and safety procedures.
  • Biofuels or Industrial Biotech Technician – Supports the production of bio-based fuels and industrial biotech products using biological processes.
  • cGMP Compliance Specialist – Ensures manufacturing processes follow current Good Manufacturing Practice (cGMP) regulations and documentation standards.
  • Process Development Lab Technician – Assists in developing, testing, and improving manufacturing processes in laboratory settings.
