The AE degree includes at least 60 credit hours focused on math, science, communication,
and computer skills. It prepares you for transfer into a four-year engineering program.
Courses include English, humanities, social sciences, natural sciences, and advanced
math. This well-rounded curriculum helps you meet general education requirements and
explore your interests in engineering.
Through the AE to BSE Articulation Agreement, you can transfer to one of five UNC engineering schools if you earn at least a 2.5
GPA and a grade of “C” or better in all courses. Admission is competitive and not
guaranteed.
The AE degree builds strong problem-solving and communication skills. It opens doors
to entry-level jobs or further study in various engineering fields.
