JCC Foundation Hosts Breakfast Before Business

Johnston County EMS receives Business and Industry Partner of the Year Award.

The Johnston Community College Foundation welcomed community leaders, industry partners, and supporters to its annual Breakfast Before Business event last week, celebrating the strong partnerships that help drive workforce development and student success across Johnston County.

The event recognized outstanding collaboration between JCC and the local business community. This year, two organizations were honored with the Business and Industry Partner of the Year Award: Johnston County EMS and Caterpillar, in recognition of their continued support, partnership, and investment in workforce development.

This year’s keynote speaker, Stephanie Norris of the Federal Reserve Bank of Richmond, provided valuable insights on economic trends and workforce development, highlighting the importance of strong partnerships between education and industry.

Attendees also heard an inspiring student perspective from Shonda Tumath, who shared her personal journey at JCC and the impact the college has had on her educational and career goals.

“Breakfast Before Business continues to highlight the power of collaboration,” says JCC Foundation Director, Dwain Teague. “Our partnerships with local business and industry are essential to student success and the economic vitality of our community.”
