Johnston Community College (JCC) is pleased to announce that three students selected
for the Goodnight Scholars Program Class of 2029
Johnston Community College (JCC) is pleased to announce that three students from its
innovative high school programs, Career and Technical Leadership Academy (CTLA) and
Early College Academy (ECA) were selected for the Goodnight Scholars Program Class
of 2029.
This year’s finalists represented a diverse and accomplished group of students from 130 high schools across North Carolina.

“These remarkable students embody the dedication, talent, and perseverance that make Johnston Community College’s early college programs so impactful,” says JCC President Dr. Vern L. Lindquist. “Their selection as Goodnight Scholars is a testament to their hard work and the strong foundation provided by JCC’s innovative high school programs. We are proud of these students and of the programs.”
The Goodnight Scholars program recognizes stellar academic achievement, exemplary
extracurricular involvement, change-centered civic engagement, and continued success
in the STEM and STEM education fields. Students in the program receive a comprehensive
financial and professional development support throughout their academic journey at
NC State.
