A Milestone Moment: Honoring Graduates at JCC’s Spring 2026 Commencement Ceremony
Johnston Community College (JCC) celebrated the achievements of its graduates during Commencement this week. The College honored the dedication, perseverance, and success of students completing their academic journeys.
A total of 335 graduates crossed the stage, as family members, friends, supporters, faculty, and staff joined in the recognition of this important milestone.
Graduates were celebrated across three ceremonies in the Paul A. Johnston Auditorium, each representing a different program area: Health Sciences, Transfer Programs, and Applied, Workforce, & Skills Training.
Each ceremony had a commencement address delivered by a keynote speaker who offered inspiring words to graduates.
- Health Sciences keynote speaker: Melissa Overton – CEO and Founder of MedicalTraining.me
- Transfer Programs keynote speaker: Dr. Monique Perry-Graces – CEO of Road to Hire and Transformational Executive Leader
- Applied, Workforce, & Skills Training keynote speaker: Patrick Harris – Johnston County Commissioner Chair
There were more than 850 credentials awarded for the Spring 2026 semester; including 520 degrees, 285 certificates, and 62 diplomas.
"These graduates are a reflection of the very best our community has to offer," said JCC President Dr. Vern L. Lindquist. "Their hard work and dedication have brought them to this moment, and we have no doubt they will go on to make a real difference."
