Johnston Community College’s Beta Zeta Theta chapter of Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society was awarded a three-star chapter designation and was recognized as the most improved chapter at the Carolinas Regional Phi Theta Kappa Convention.
This is a remarkable achievement for the Beta Zeta Theta Chapter of Johnston Community College which demonstrates the members' and advisors' dedication, hard work, and commitment to excel in academics, leadership, and service.
In addition to this chapter recognition, officers Robyn Matthews and Lauren Smith
completed all of the PTK EDGE leadership development modules. PTK EDGE is designed
to help members successfully transition into the workforce or to a university through
courses that focus on career prep, soft skills, and research methods, and more.
Trish Ragsdale was recognized for completing the Healthcare EDGE module.
Robyn Matthews says, “Being a part of PTK has offered me many benefits such as access to scholarships, assistance with transferring to a university, and building leadership skills. However, one of the most enriching aspects is PTK Edge. By completing these modules, I feel more prepared and confident to succeed in my chosen career.”
