SMITHFIELD, N.C. (March 19, 2026) – Johnston Community College (JCC), in partnership with Capital Area Workforce Development and NCWorks Career Centers, hosted the NCWorks Job Fair on JCC’s main campus.
Around 200 job-seeking individuals attended the event, which introduced them to 25 employers with hundreds of job vacancies.
The free event allowed job seekers to meet directly with a variety of companies in some of Johnston County’s most in-demand industries, including healthcare, biopharma, construction, and local government. Employers attending include Grifols, Johnston County Government, Coca-Cola Consolidated, NC Department of Transportation, American Air Filtration (AAF), Liberty Health, Town of Clayton, among many others.
“It’s exciting to see our community come together in such a meaningful way. We have employers that are eager to invest in talent that’s cultivated right here in Johnston County,” says JCC President Dr. Vern Lindquist.
“Our partnership with NCWorks connects individuals with opportunities that can make a lasting difference in their lives,” Lindquist adds.
