Radiography - Program Effectiveness Data

Programmatic accreditation is very important to the Johnston Community College Radiography Program because not only does it ensure program effectiveness, but it also evaluates program integrity. Accreditation maintains to our students that our program is meeting the appropriate standards in order to meet their educational needs. The Johnston Community College Radiography Program is accredited by the Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology. The program currently maintains an 8 year accreditation.

Credentialing Examination Pass Rate

Credentialing Examination Pass Rate is the number of graduates that pass the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) certification examination on the first attempt within six months of graduation.

Job Placement Rate

Job Placement Rate is a five year average of the number of graduates that are employed in Radiography and compared the number of graduates that are actively seeking employment. 2010-2012 data is reflective of employment status of graduates within six months of graduation. 2013-2014 data is reflective of employment status of graduates within twelve months of graduation.

Not actively seeking employment is defined by the JRCERT as:

  1. Non communication of graduate with program after multiple attempts.
  2. Graduate is unwilling to relocate for employment.
  3. Graduate is unwilling to accept employment due to hours or salary.
  4. Graduate is on active military duty
  5. Graduate is continuing education.

18 of 19 graduates completed the graduate survey. 12 of 13 actively seeking graduates were employed within 12 months of graduation.  5 graduates were not seeking employment. 4 of the 5 considered not seeking indicated not seeking on the survey and 1 respondent indicated seeking on the survey but was considered not seeking due to higher education and not willing to relocate.

24 of 24 graduates completed the graduate survey. 15 of 16 actively seeking graduates were employed within 12 months of graduation.  9 graduates were not seeking employment. 7 of those were continuing their education and 1 respondent indicated seeking on the survey but was considered due to not willing to relocate.

21 of 23 graduates completed the graduate survey for a 91.3% survey response. 16 of 16 actively seeking graduates were employed within 12 months of graduation.  5 graduates were not seeking employment. 4 of those were continuing their education and 1 respondent indicated not seeking on the survey.

19 of 22 graduates completed the graduate survey for an 86% survey response.  18 of 18 actively seeking graduates were employed within 12 months of graduation.  1 graduate indicated not seeking on the survey.  7 of those employed are also continuing their education.

Program completion rate is defined as the number of students who complete the Radiography program within 150% of the stated program length. The program length is 18 months and the program completion rate is defined as those students graduating within 27 months of beginning the program.
