Sigma Theta Tau International (STTI) – member since 2012--STTI is the Honor Society of Nursing, which supports nurses throughout their careers.  Membership is by invitation to those who demonstrate excellence in scholarship and nursing practice.

National Student Nurses Association (NSNA) – sustaining member--Professional organization aimed at nursing students nationwide.  NSNA mentors the professional development of future registered nurses and facilitates their entrance into the profession by providing educational resources, leadership opportunities and career guidance. www.nsna.org

North Carolina Nurses Association (NCNA) – member--Professional organization for all registered nurses in North Carolina.  NCNA serves the changing needs of its members, addressing nursing issues, and advocates for the health and well-being of all people.

American Nurses Association (ANA) – member--Professional organization representing the interest of the nation's 3.4 million registered nurses, in order to promote the highest standards of nursing practice.
National League for Nurses (NLN) – member--Professional organization for nurse faculty and leaders in nursing education.

Professional Experience

I have a broad range of clinical background to include general medical and surgical nursing of adults, nurse case manager for the cardiac service line, an elementary school nurse to over 800 amazing students, and the CYSS (Child, Youth, and School Age Services) Nurse for the Army at Fort Irwin, CA.

I have been teaching in the ADN Program at Johnston Community College since 2012.
