Within this 5-hour (.5 CEU credit) session, we will discover the importance of oral language within the classroom with a focus on strategies to increase the use of oral language such as story telling, read aloud, and through interactions.

Course Description

The foundation of literacy development is oral language.  Language rich environments help children learn the vocabulary needed to express their basic needs, ideas, emotions, and questions.

Intended Audience

Early Childhood & Elementary school teachers, administrators and other professionals working with young children.
