Career and Technical Education Pathways
Career and Technical Education (CTE) Pathways are designed for students who wish to begin working toward the completion of a credential. Each CTE pathway leads to a certificate or diploma that is aligned with a JCPS Career Cluster. CTE courses may be used to provide partial or total fulfillment of a four unit career cluster in high school.
The Accounting and Finance curriculum is designed to provide students with the knowledge and skills necessary for employment and growth in the accounting profession. Certified nursing assistants (CNAs) are important healthcare providers who support
patients with daily activities and supply routine care such as assessing temperatures,
pulse, respiration, and blood pressure, activities of daily living and providing nursing
assistant procedures. Supervised by a registered nurse or license practical nurse,
CNAs are commonly referred to as the "eyes and ears" of the nurse because they spend
more time observing and interacting with patients.
This training provides insight into patient care that will prove invaluable as you
pursue your nursing, sonography or health sciences career. Another common term for
CNA is Nurse Aide I. Nurse Aide I provides a 160-hour State Approved basic personal
care course leading to the N.C. State Certification Exam for the Nurse Aide Registry.
