Career Coach Program
The Johnston Community College Career Coach Program is a grant funded collaboration between the NC Community College System (NCCCS), Johnston Community College (JCC), and Johnston County Public Schools (JCPS).
The purpose of the program is to place career coaches in high schools to assist students with determining career goals and identifying community college programs that would enable them to achieve these goals.
Career coaches provide outreach and work closely with high school counselors, career development coordinators, and teachers to ensure that all students are aware of the equal and equitable opportunities available to them.
Career coaches work with students to help them make informed decisions regarding their post-secondary education and career goals through a variety of opportunities, such as:
- career assessments
- pathway Q&A presentations
- workforce information
- college and career fairs
- job-shadowing, apprenticeship, and scholarship opportunities
