Jonathan Lane
My name is Jonathan Lane and I am originally from East Tennessee; I’ve called North Carolina home since 2008. I have a natural sciences background (Brigham Young University, B.S., Microbiology/Chemistry minor; Quillen College of Medicine, East Tennessee State University, M.S. & Ph.D., Biomedical Sciences/Microbiology) and a computer science background (James Madison University, M.S., Computer Science).
Over the past two decades, I worked in the information and computer security field for various organizations, including the U.S. Army, Northrop Grumman, General Electric, NetApp, and others. Prior to joining Johnston Community College, I worked the previous five years for a managed security services provider detecting network and computer system compromises and providing incident response for various industries, organizations, cities, and schools. I’m also a retired U.S. Army Reserve Colonel, and I spent several years helping lead and then later working for the U.S. Army Computer Emergency Response Team.
