Linda Vann Lassiter Philanthropist of the Year Award

Each year the Linda Vann Lassiter Women's Society honors a philanthropist in Johnston County. The winner will be honored at an annual luncheon scheduled to take place on Thursday, May 4, 2023 at the Farm at 95. Nominations are being accepted for the 2023 award through April 4, 2023.

The honor is awarded to an individual who has made a positive impact in our community through giving, and whose philanthropic leadership sets an inspiring example. Last year’s winner was Janet Daughtry of Selma.

Nominees must reside in Johnston County; demonstrate a track record of charitable giving; encourage, motivate, and inspire others to become philanthropic; volunteer and connect others to the organization through their passion; and provide leadership and vision within the community.

The Linda Vann Lassiter Women’s Society was established in 2019 to honor the service of Linda Vann Lassiter, who served on the board of the Johnston Community College Foundation.

The Society brings together women from diverse backgrounds with a common goal: to improve the lives of those in the community. Members contribute to the Linda Vann Lassiter Women’s Society Endowment Fund which benefits rising eighth graders in Johnston County.

Submit your nominations for the 2023 Philanthropist of the Year now through April 4, 2023.
