Students conduct professional interviews

Smithfield, N.C., (February 23, 2024) Johnston Community College hosted JOCO WORKS PRO this week. The event offers more than a hundred Johnston County high school sophomores a unique real-world experience.

It is a Youth Professionalism Conference, presented by JCC, Triangle East Chamber of Commerce, and Johnston County Public Schools. The day kicked off with an inspiring session led by keynote speaker, Peyton Holland.

Students engaged in mock interviews conducted by business and industry leaders and attended workshops about workplace communication and professionalism.

The students were also able to learn more about JCC’s Career in a Year programs.

JOCO WORKS PRO is the sister program to JOCO WORKS, which allows Johnston County eighth graders to experience a wide array of career possibilities on JCC’s main campus.

This year’s JOCO WORKS event will be held November 7-8, 2024.
