JCC and Board of Trustees Announce Interim President
Published: April 22, 2022The NCCCS State Board approves the appointment of Dr. Kenneth Boham
(Smithfield, NC) – On April 22, 2022, Dr. Kenneth Boham was named interim president of Johnston Community College. He will begin serving in the position on May 16, 2022.
“Dr. Boham was chosen to serve in this role based on his stellar career,” states Lyn Austin, chair of the JCC Board of Trustees. “He has over 40 years of experience serving North Carolina community colleges, both as a sitting president and in the interim capacity. The Board feels confident he is the best leader for JCC during this time of transition.”
Dr. Boham served as the president of Caldwell Community College and Technical Institute for more than 20 years. He was named Community College System President of the Year in 2003 and won the I.E. Ready Distinguished Graduate Award from N.C. State in 1998. Dr. Boham is also a recipient of the prestigious Order of the Long Leaf Pine award.
Dr. David Johnson announced his resignation from JCC on April 15, 2022 after serving as president for 13 years.
The Board of Trustees is establishing a process to identify the next president of Johnston Community College. Details will be forthcoming.
