Johnston Community College’s Howell Woods Environmental Learning Center is making plans for its ninth Howell Woodstock event on Saturday, April 22.

Howell Woodstock offers many free fun activities for the family from 1 until 5 p.m., including fishing, mule wagon rides, environmental educational programs, nature walks, live music by 180 Years, and much more. This year’s event will also celebrate the N.C. Science Festival and will feature rocket launching, a low ropes course, and bird feeder building.

Admission is free. Local food and craft vendors will have items for sale and inflatable tickets are also available for purchase.

“This year marks our ninth Woodstock event, and we are excited to once again be offering this family-fun day and incorporating the N.C. Science Festival at the event,” says Jordan Astoske, director. “This is such a beautiful time of year on the Howell Woods property, and we hope folks will come out and bring their families and have a great time with us.”

Howell Woods is a unique 2,800-acre natural resource located at 6601 Devil’s Racetrack Road in the Bentonville community of southeastern Johnston County. Howell Woodstock will be held rain or shine.
