Johnston Health Pledges Funds for JCC Nursing Faculty

Johnston Health presented a check this week to Johnston Community College Foundation for $89,319. The funds are part of a three-year pledge which helps support faculty positions in JCC’s Associate Degree Nursing program.
Thirty-nine students will graduate from the department this month and that is welcome news for local healthcare employers.
“With the current nursing shortage, it is important to us to partner with our community and we are proud to partner with Johnston Community College for those workforce needs,” says Johnston Health CEO, Tom Williams.
“We would like for every JCC graduate to want to continue to live and work in Johnston County,” Williams adds.
Vice President of Instruction, Dr. Linda Smith says, “We would like to thank Johnston Health for its continued support of our health programs. The hospital is truly a community partner and we appreciate out mutual relationship.”
Johnston Health has been a long-time supporter of Johnston Community College students in the various healthcare fields. The Associate Degree Nursing program is a cornerstone program of the college since its inception in 1969.
