New SGA Leaders Ready for the Year Ahead

The 2016-17 members of the JCC Student Government Association executive board are an enthusiastic group of young leaders with a passion to grow the student club on campus.
"We're really trying to rebrand SGA," said Megan Ludy, president. "We're a diverse group with a lot of ideas. I think we're moving in the right direction, and it's going to be a great year."
The new leaders have been busy planning and setting goals for SGA for the upcoming school year. They've also been working on setting the social calendar with lots of fun events like Fall Fest, Spring Fling, and Movie on the Lawn. And they are super excited about the rebirth of basketball this fall at JCC.
Amber Pittman, SGA public information officer, said she's excited about the association participating in several community service projects this year. "We really want to reach more students and get more students involved in SGA. We want them to know that we are here to listen to their concerns."
Members of the 2016-17 SGA Executive Board are: president, Megan Ludy of Clayton, a paralegal student; vice president, Jasil Younger of Zebulon, a criminal justice technology and latent evidence student; secretary, Daleana Tippins of Raleigh, an associate in general education student; and public information officer, Amber Pittman of Selma, a paralegal student.
SGA is still looking for a treasurer and parliamentarian. Any student leaders interested in serving should contact advisor Derrick Arnold at (919) 209-2203 or daarnold@johnstoncc.edu.
