Nursing Graduates Earn 100% Passing Rate on NCLEX-RN Exam

Johnston Community College's 2016 nursing graduates earned a 100% passing rate on their NCLEX-RN licensure exam.
In all, 36 graduates passed the licensure exam on their first attempt. JCC holds a three-year average pass rate of 98% percent, which far exceeds the state and national averages, said Angela Swank, program director.
"The program's rigorous structure, its dedicated faculty and students' ability to gain real-life experience at a variety of quality health care facilities all contribute to the high first-time passing rate.," she said. "The nursing faculty at JCC are very proud of our students' achievements."
JCC's associate degree nursing program is currently a candidate for initial accreditation from the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN). This accreditation is a voluntary peer review process to enhance quality improvement in nursing education.
"The faculty are excited about the opportunity this will afford our students and our nursing program, and we are making a collaborative effort to ensure our accreditation is successful," Swank said.
