New Trustees Participate in Orientation

Trustees toured buildings and learned about program areas.
Two new Johnston Community College trustees participated in an orientation and campus tour on Wednesday.
Mary Daughtry of Pine Level and Josh Thompson of Clayton took part in the two-hour information session.
During the orientation, new trustees heard brief overviews from the college's four divisions – student services, instruction, administration, and College Foundation. They also toured several buildings on campus to learn more about the college's programs, equipment, and learning environments for students.
Specifically, the trustees toured the Tart Building and heard plans for transforming the old library space into a new Student Success Center. They also saw radiography and nursing labs, the therapeutic massage clinic, the television studio, the early childhood learning center, the library, welding and machining labs, and the engineering building.
Daughtry, Thompson and Polly Lamberth were all appointed to the board in July. They will each serve four-year terms.
