TRIO is celebrating National Hispanic Heritage Month!
National Hispanic Heritage Month is the period from September 15 to October 15 in the United States when people recognize the contributions of Hispanic and Latino Americans.
On Sept. 15, TRIO students and staff set up educational displays throughout the office to celebrate the history, culture, and contributions of American citizens whose ancestors came from Spain, Mexico, the Carribean and Central and South America.
Students designed posters with key facts and collected and showcased Mexican and Latin American clothing, toys, a quinceanera dress, poncho, hammock, piñata, and other items to illustrate the Spanish culture.
