Nine Students Receive Golden Leaf Scholarships

Nine students from Johnston Community College have received scholarships through the Golden LEAF Scholarship program for the North Carolina Community College System.
The Golden LEAF Scholarship program, designed to help North Carolinians attend the state's community colleges, is funded through a grant from the Golden LEAF Foundation.
Up to $750 per semester, including summer term, is available for curriculum students and up to $250 per semester for students enrolling in occupational programs. Awards can be applied toward tuition, fees, books, supplies, transportation, child care expenses related to attending classes, and mid-skills credential testing upon course completion.
JCC's fall recipients are Kathryn Scott of Kenly; Juana Aguilar-Arias of Smithfield; Amber Peedin of Kenly; Kaylyn Powell of Dunn; Kelly Whittington of Clayton; Lisa Lee of Princeton; Kayla Bryant of Princeton; Courtney Batten of Lucama and Stormie Moreno of Selma.
