The early childhood education program and the Child Development Center at Johnston Community College are participating in the Week of the Young Child April 11-15. Sponsored by the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC), the WOYC is an annual celebration of early learning, young children, their teachers, and their families.

The center has planned a different theme for each day of the week with lots of fun events and activities to promote learning in young children. The early childhood education program is also partnering with the JCC library to host local artist illustrator Jill Johnson and Kindermonkey Tuesday morning for a children's workshop and storytelling event.

JCC President David Johnson visited the CDC at JCC Friday morning to read a book with the children and sign a proclamation in recognition of the special week.
