The Medical Assisting Program is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) upon the recommendation of Medical Assisting Education Review Board MAERB. Graduates of CAAHEP-accredited medical assisting programs may be eligible to sit for the American Association of Medical Assistants' (AAMA) Certification Examination to become Certified Medical Assistants. Most facilities do require some kind of certification or degree to be hired. Check with the hiring facility to determine what type of certification/degree is acceptable.
