Engaging with Your College Student

It is known for students to perform better when their parent and or guardian is involved in their education. Sometimes it can be hard for students to open up about how they are doing, and as a parent, you definitely want to know. Here are few questions you can use to start meaningful conversations.

  1. What was the best thing that happen to you today?
  2. What are you most excited about at JCC?
  3. What is your class schedule?
  4. What is something that made you laugh recently?
  5. Have you joined any clubs and or organizations yet?
  6. How do you plan to balance school, student life, and your social life?
  7. Were you able to help someone today?
  8. What was the most interesting thing you learned in class today?
  9. What are some of your goals for this semester?
  10. How can I support you?
