Computer Basics for Job Seekers
This workshop takes a look at computer functionality from a new user’s perspective.
It is for anyone who is new to computers and the Internet.
Computer Basics starts with:
- Booting a machine
- Understanding basic windows in your operating system
- Computer parts that make up your machine.
After you get a feel for computer hardware and the operating systems, this workshop
explores Information Technology including different types of computers, laptops and
mobile devices.
Once you understand basic computer functions, you will move on to the Internet and
its basic functions.
This workshop will cover how to find information, how to use common communication
functions such as email and how to stay safe on the Internet to avoid scams and losing
your sensitive information.
** Note: Tuition and fees for Human Resources Development (HRD) classes may be waived for individuals who meet specific criteria.
