Welding

Johnston Community College is an American Welding Society (AWS) Accredited Testing Facility, offering welder qualification testing for AWS certification.

This program is designed for individuals wishing to certify under specific American Welding Society code, adding credibility and the opportunity for advancement to their professional welding career.

Every certification that a welder earns increases the number of skills needed to perform a wide range of welding jobs. Testers are required to complete the required forms for testing, and are provided with all necessary materials and consumables to conduct the requested test or tests.

No welding instruction will be offered on the day of testing.

Testing is available for single position plate 3/8" carbon steel, 2 position plate 3/8" carbon steel, and single position carbon pipe up to 6". Please contact Robert Long or Kenny Duncan for more information on testing opportunities.
