Critical Thinking Skills

Technical Skills

  • Must be able to read and interpret wiring diagrams, meters, gauges, manifolds, and electrical instruments
Auditory Skills
  • Able to use sensory cues to maintain standards of quality electrical

  • Have awareness of surroundings through use of senses
  • Able to tolerate extreme and constant noise
  • Sufficient auditory skills to hear equipment running/operating to determine efficiency of operation.
  • Sufficient auditory skills to hear tones of various pitches emitted by testers and meters.

  • Have an awareness of surroundings through use of senses
  • Survey and select appropriate materials, tools, and equipment for electrical work

  • Distinguish shapes, forms, and patterns and visualize three-dimensional objects
  • Have sufficient visual capacity to read prints, schematics, meters and testers.

  • The ability to convey information effectively and efficiently in class or lab settings
  • Understand/interpret information from textbook, handouts, diagrams, charts, and tables
  • Use written and oral communication to demonstrate comprehension of electrical concepts
