Report on CARES ACT – HEERF Strengthening Institutions Program

Acknowledgment

Johnston Community College acknowledges that it signed and returned to the U. S. Department of Education the Certification and Agreement for Higher Education Emergency Relief Fund-Strengthening Institutions Program under the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act and assures that it intends to use the funds received as permitted under Section 18004(a)(1) of the CARES Act.

Amount of Funds Received

Johnston Community College was awarded $111,126, from the U. S. Department of Education according to the institution’s Certification and Agreement for Higher Education Emergency Relief Fund-Strengthening Institutions Program.

Purpose of Fund

The purpose of the fund is to cover any costs associated with lost revenue or significant changes to the delivery of instruction due to the coronavirus. It may also, but is not required, to be used to provide additional emergency financial aid grants to students for expenses related to the disruption of campus operations due to coronavirus.

Amount of Strengthening Institutions Program Funds Expended

As of August 31, 2020, the total amount of SIP aid which Johnston Community College has expended under Section 18004(a)(1) of the CARES Act is $111,126. All grant funds have been expended and this grant is closed.
