Lost and Found
Found Property:
The Campus Security Department maintains the Lost & Found service for Johnston Community
College. If you have found an item that does not belong to you, please hand-deliver
or mail it to the Campus Security Department, or call (919) 209-2111 to have an officer
come by your location on campus to pick it up.
Items may be mailed to:
Johnston Community College
Attn: Campus Security
245 College Road • P.O. Box 2350
Smithfield, NC 27577
Lost Property:
Inquiries about lost or misplaced articles may be made in-person by visiting the Campus
Security Office, located next to the Jaguar Grill in the Wilson Building, Room C1214,
by sending an email to jcccampuspolice@johnstoncc.edu, or by calling Campus Security at (919) 209-2111. Please note that anyone claiming
property must be prepared to present proper identification and sign for returned items.
When making telephone inquiries, it is important to leave your name, phone number,
and a detailed description of the item you're calling about so an officer will be
able to contact you. Also, keep in mind that not all items lost on campus will be
turned in to the Campus Security Department.
Officers will make every reasonable attempt to return found property to its rightful
owner. If your item is recovered, you will be notified as soon as possible. Please
be sure that your address and phone number are accurate in JCC’s records. You can
check and update your contact information by logging onto WebAdvisor, clicking the
link "Account Information," and then "Address Change." We can't return your property
unless we know how to reach you!
Unclaimed Property:
All unclaimed, found property that is turned in to the Campus Security Department
shall only be kept for one (1) term. Any unclaimed items at the end of each term shall
be disposed of pursuant to JCC policy AOM-9.14.
