Research and Institutional Effectiveness

The purpose of the Research and Institutional Effectiveness (IE) department is to advance and support the college through planning and institutional research by guiding the college in the completion of its continuous planning activities, providing data collection and analysis assistance, supporting state and federal reporting requirements, and supervising and monitoring Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges accreditation activities. The mission of Johnston Community College is to provide accessible, equitable, high-quality educational and community enrichment opportunities for the successful development of learners.  Research and IE supports this mission through its overall support of college planning and assessment processes to ensure each unit on campus is planning for adequate growth each year.  Furthermore, this department is responsible for providing stakeholders with high-quality data to enable sound decision-making regarding decisions that directly impact educational opportunities within the community. Through the execution and monitoring of SACSCOC accreditation activities, Research and IE directly ensures the college is able to issue high-quality credentials to graduates.
