WorkKeys - Career Readiness Certificate

The Career Readiness Certificate is a portable credential that promotes career development and skill attainment for the individual and confirms to employers that an individual possesses basic workplace skills in reading, applied math, and locating information - essential skills required by the vase majority of jobs today.

Career Readiness Certificate levels and employability:

• Bronze - Core employability skills for approximately 30% of all jobs.
• Silver - Core employability skills for approximately 65% of all jobs.
• Gold - Core employability skills approximately 90% of all jobs.

KeyTrain classes are offered on-line through Johnston Community College. To receive a username and password, contact Heidi Harris at 919-209-2594 or send an email to hhharris@johnstoncc.edu. On-line class will run for 16 weeks and an unlimited amount of hours. A new class begins the first week of each month. Preregistration is required.

WorkKeys®- CRC Test Prep

This class is designed to prepare students to take the WorkKeys® assessments. Each area of concentration will cover basic subject matter needed to upgrade skill level and prepare the student to take the WorkKeys® exam. A fee is required for the test and is free to qualified participants. Tuition and fee may be waived for individuals who meet the following criteria: unemployed, received notice of pending layoff, working and eligible for Federal Earned Income Tax Credit (FEIT), or working and earning wages at or below two hundred percent(200%) of the federal poverty guidelines. A minimum of 8 or a maximum of 16 students will be accepted. (Prepaid registration is required.)
