Would you like to be a substitute in the public schools, but you’ve never had training? This course provides training in presentation skills, learning expectations, monitoring student interactions, social interactions, and time management. Pre-registration is required.

Spanish for Teachers I

Learn to communicate with the growing Hispanic population. This class concentrates on conversational techniques and basic word phrases intended for the classroom. Emphasis will be placed on pronunciation and oral exercises.

Spanish for Teachers II

This class is a continuation of Spanish for Teachers I. The selection of Spanish vocabulary and expressions focused on, will enhance communication between teachers, parents, and students. Participants will learn and practice basic greetings, introductions, classroom vocabulary, feelings and descriptive vocabulary, and “survival” vocabulary for parent conferences. The participants will practice their new skills with partners, in small cooperative groups, and as a class.
