Weight Room
Policies and Procedures for General Use
- The weight room will be open set hours for general use by faculty,
staff, and curriculum students. Hours of general use shall be
scheduled around class needs. Hours may also be designated for use by
faculty and staff only. The weight room is not open to the general
public.
- This will be a free program dedicated to improving one's health and
physical fitness. Spouses and children will not be allowed to
participate in this program.
- Students must attend a one-hour orientation or have taken PED 110, PED
111, PED 112, PED 117, or PED 118 before being eligible to use the weight
room
- Orientation will be offered once a week during the first
three weeks of each semester and once each month thereafter. The
following shall be covered during the orientation:
- proper attire
- demonstration of use of each machine
- care for equipment
- waiver
- rules related to use of weight room and locker rooms
- General use hours shall be proposed and approved each semester by the
student activities director, physical education teacher, and BLET
coordinator.
- Hours for curriculum students' use shall be posted each semester on an
enclosed letter board located outside the weight room.
- There shall be a representative of the college in the weight room during
hours of curriculum student use to check ID's and monitor use.
- All students will abide by the Student Code of Conduct (Section III,
Article B) when using the weight room.
- All injuries shall be reported and written up on a student accident
form.
