Senior Adults Computer Courses
Non self-supporting courses are free to senior citizens aged 65 or older. There are no fee exemptions allowed for self-supporting courses. The registration fee must be paid by all class participants. Registration fees vary depending upon cost of the course and minimum enrollment of students. No refunds are permitted for withdrawal from self-supporting courses unless the course is canceled by the College. Self-supporting courses are noted by (SS) beside the class title. For senior computer classes, all students must pay the technology fee regardless of age.
Course Schedule
Senior Adults Introduction to Computers and the Internet (SS*)
This is an introductory course covering the fundamentals of computers and the Internet with the opportunity for hands-on practice. Basics of computers including hardware, windows, word processing and spreadsheet will be reviewed. Information you need to research a subject, to buy and sell, and to keep your operating software up to date will be discussed. Exercises will be accomplished in capturing information to the local environment, using search engines, and setting up email. Examples are finding maps, doctors, medicines, and accessing government agencies to view your account. Capturing pictures and sending them to others will be demonstrated and practiced. Preregistration is required.

Senior Adults Vista Revisited (SS*)
This slower-paced course is a continuation of the Intro to Computers and Vista class. This course will review basic skills and the Vista Operating System. Learning objectives will include: file management, making back-up files to a CD or USB memory stick, and computer maintenance (defragmenting). The class will establish a solid foundation for making learning other computer applications easier. Preregistration is required.
