Radiography Program Effectiveness Data

Programmatic accreditation is very important to the Johnston Community College Radiography Program because not only does it ensure program effectiveness, but it also evaluates program integrity. Accreditation maintains to our students that our program is meeting the appropriate standards in order to meet their educational needs. The Johnston Community College Radiography Program is accredited by the Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology. The program currently maintains an 8-year accreditation.

Credentialing Examination Pass Rate

Credentialing Examination Pass Rate is the number of graduates that pass the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) certification examination on the first attempt within six months of graduation.

Job Placement Rate

Job Placement Rate is a five year average of the number of graduates that are employed in Radiography and compared the number of graduates that are actively seeking employment. 2009-2012 data is reflective of employment status of graduates within six months of graduation. 2013 data is reflective of employment status of graduates within twelve months of graduation.
Not actively seeking employment is defined by the JRCERT as:

  1. Non communication of graduate with program after multiple attempts.
  2. Graduate is unwilling to relocate for employment.
  3. Graduate is unwilling to accept employment due to hours or salary.
  4. Graduate is on active military duty.
  5. Graduate is continuing education.

2010 83% 20 out of 24 graduates completed the graduate survey. 15 of 18 actively seeking graduates were employed within 6 months of graduation.
2011 85.7% (86) 19 of 23 graduates completed the graduate survey. 12 of 14 actively seeking graduates were employed within 6 months of graduation.
2012 78.6% (79) 18 of 22 graduates completed the graduate survey. 11 of 14 actively seeking graduates were employed within 6 months of graduation.
2013 94.44% (93) 22 of 24 graduates completed the graduate survey. 2 no respondents contacted by the program. 17 of 18 actively seeking graduates were employed within 12 months of graduation.

Program Completion Rate

Program Completion rate is calculated by dividing the number of students who complete the program within a cohort by the number who enrolled in the cohort (initially, transfer students, and readmits). Students who leave the program for any reason are considered non-completers.
