Developmental preparatory courses are offered to develop the basic skills essential for success in collegiate study. Specialized instruction is provided to meet individual needs.
It is the policy of Johnston Community College that students who apply to pursue the college transfer program or a technical education program, but are deficient in the basic skills of reading, grammar, composition, and/or mathematics, are placed in appropriate developmental courses to remedy the deficiencies and strengthen their preparation to pursue further education.
Students who need to strengthen basic skills are required to successfully complete appropriate developmental preparatory courses.
