Cosmetology Spanish Program

The Cosmetology curriculum is designed to provide Spanish-speaking students with hands-on training in a simulated salon environment. Course work includes instructions in all phases of professional imaging, hair design, chemical processes, skin care, nail care, multi-cultural practices, business/computer principles, product knowledge, and other selected topics.

Graduates of the program are skilled in hairstyling, haircutting, sculptured nails technology, skin care, permanent waving and relaxing, and hair color. Upon completion of the program and after attaining a passing score on the State Board Exam, graduates are qualified to work in cosmetology salons and related businesses throughout North Carolina.

The three-semester continuing education program will be taught by both Spanish-speaking and English-speaking instructors.  A required Cosmetology ESL class is built into the program to ensure Spanish speaking students are successful in passing the NC State Board exams.

The program is estimated to cost about $1,900. Students may qualify for scholarship opportunities.

JCC also offers an associate's degree, diploma, and instructor certificate as well as numerous continuing education courses in cosmetology.
