Phlebotomy
Program:
The Phlebotomy course prepares individuals to obtain blood and other specimens for the purpose of laboratory analysis. Graduates receive a certificate of completion and may qualify for employment in hospitals, clinics, physicians' offices, and other health care settings, and may be eligible for national certification as phlebotomy technicians.
Offering:
Currently, the class meets two evenings a week Fall and Spring. The clinical portion and the clinical sites vary for each student and vary with times and days assigned by the instructor. Students may also take additional classes at the same time (such as Nursing Assistant I or Medication aide) to increase marketable skills.
Requirements:
High School Diploma or GED, current CPR certification, criminal background/drug screens, and Immunizations. No other courses are required to sign up for this program.
