Pharmacy Assistant Program
Get your pharmacy career in gear! This 12-week certification course covers an overview of working in a pharmacy environment. The coursework includes understanding the pharmacy team, knowing your essential skills and responsibilities as a pharmacy assistant, understanding pharmacology basics, learning about generic, trade, and chemical names of drugs commonly prescribed, understanding and filling the prescription, managing inventory, and understanding potential safety hazards when working with medicine. Class includes a clinical rotation at a retail or hospital pharmacy.

Introduction to Pharmacy
Great to take before making that next big education or career move into pharmacy! This 63 hour course covers an overview of working in a pharmacy environment. The coursework includes understanding the pharmacy team, knowing your essential skills and responsibilities as a pharmacy assistant, understanding pharmacology basics, learning about generic, trade, and chemical names of drugs commonly prescribed, understanding and filling the prescription, managing inventory, and understanding potential safety hazards when working with medicine. Class includes resume development and interviewing in the healthcare field, as well as connection with one or more local pharmacies for tours and/or speaker sessions. Also includes basic calculations, pharmacy math, conflict resolution, and current ethics and issues. High school students 16 years or older are welcome as well (must fill out a dual enrollment form).
