Acrylic paint mediums offer a wide variety of creative options when it comes to collaging, adding texture, glazing and incorporating ephemera. This workshop will touch on a few of the basic mixed media techniques along with guiding participants in completing a painting from design to finish.
Supplies:
Sketchbook or notepad to take notes and sketch design ideas
2 Stretched canvases or canvas panels - 9 x 12" or 12 x 12"
Acrylic paints -- your favorite colors or basic set of Titanium white, Ultramarine blue, Cadmium Red Medium, Cadmium Yellow Medium, Mars Black
Small container of Glazing Medium (your preference of matte or gloss)
Small container of Regular Gel Medium
Variety of synthetic paint brushes; Sponges are a good addition, too.
Palette for paints
Container for water
Paper Towels
Scissors
Painting apron or old overshirt
Ephemera:
A variety of findings, papers, stamps, maps and old books will be available but students are encouraged to collect items along with old photos to bring to the workshop.
