Patrol Rifle II
Patrol Rifle II is not a basic or introductory course, as it is designed to build upon the skills learned in Patrol Rifle I. Patrol Rifle II immerses the officer with skill-building courses of fire that will take them to the next level. This course is fast paced, yet thorough; as it teaches the officer advanced skills and then asks for these fundamentals to be applied in extreme situations.
This course will cover the following areas:
- Fighting Stance
- Weapon Retention
- Position Shooting (Basic and Obscure)
Barricade/Field Positions- Low Light Shooting
- Use of Optics
- Transitions to Sidearm
- Support side shooting
- Malfunctions
- Shooting while moving
- Facing Movements
- Sling Use
- Quick Target Acquisition
- Target Discrimination
Equipment Needed:
- Serviceable 5.56/.223 AR-15 Style Patrol Rifle
- Service pistol with at least two magazines with holster and magazine carrier
- The rifle needs a sling-A tactical sling is best –but you must have a sling
- 5 serviceable rifle magazines, the more the better
- The ability to carry at least two or more rifle magazines on your body (a must!! No reloading from the pocket)
- Eye and ear protection
- Baseball type brimmed hat
- Kneepads are recommended
- 1500 rounds of serviceable rifle ammunition (minimum)
- 400 rounds of pistol ammunition
- Rifle mounted light (a must have for this course)
- Hand held light
- Pistol mounted light (nice to have but not required)
