Company selected for its support of the College’s training programs.
Johnston Community College is pleased to announce The Hales Group of Clayton as its 2017 Business and Industry Partner of the Year.
The company has contributed more than 1,000 pounds of steel to JCC’s welding program and currently has a customized training program with the College. Over the past five years, the company has hired 16 JCC graduates.
The award was announced today (Feb. 8) at JCC Foundation’s Breakfast before Business event.
The Hales Group started in 1981 as H & H Suppliers in Raleigh with two employees, and in 1985 the company moved to Clayton. The Hales Group is composed of three unique companies, Structural Steel Products Corporation (SSPC), Structural Coatings, Inc. (SCI), and The Hales Company (THC).
Today, the Hales Group employs 120 individuals and operates multiple shops on about 30 acres in Johnston County.
“The Hales Group exemplifies what a great partnership should be,” said Dr. David Johnson, JCC president. “We are extremely honored to be partnered with such a wonderful asset to Johnston County and Johnston Community College.”
Previous Business and Industry Partner award winners are Carolina Comfort Air in 2014; Grifols in 2015; and Berry Plastics in 2016.
