88 children were served thanks to donations from the college and J & M Auction.
JCC's basic skills staff and J & M Auction in Smithfield brought lots of smiles to faces and joy in hearts today when they handed out toys, blankets and coats for Christmas to 88 children of students in the program for the second year.
Michelle and Jimmy Jones, owners of J & M Auction of Smithfield, and their auction patrons started donating bicycles, dolls, tractors and other toys for the second annual drive in January of this year. "This is wonderful knowing these children are going to have a better Christmas," Michelle Jones said as she watched students received wrapped gifts for their families. "Our staff, buyers and sellers look so forward to this."
Miss Johnston County Elizabeth Brickmeier of Benson attended the event. "This is so great seeing everyone making a difference for others," she said.
Cut line: For the second year in a row, Jimmy and Michelle Jones of J & M Auction coordinated a toy drive that collected toys and other Christmas gifts for more than 88 children of students in JCC's basic skills program.
